Ganemosle a la Diabetes 2013

This video was made at the 2013 Ganemosle event in the Dominican Republic. Watch it and spot some familiar AYUDA faces!

Ganemosle a la Diabetes 2012

This video was made during the 2012 Ganemosle event in the Dominican Republic. Over 4,000 Dominicans participated in the inaugural event to raise awareness and funds to support diabetes support in the DR. AYUDA was pleased to support AAV in this venture and to work together with our partner on our 9-day volunteer program centered around this event.

 Big Blue Test in the DR
Diabetes Hands Foundation traveled to the Dominican Republic with their Big Blue Test which promotes fitness and encourages blood sugar testing.  In 2012, the made this  spirited video  which captures the spirit and the mission of our work in the Dominican Republic.

 

Empowering Youth in the DR - 2011

AYUDA and FDJE 2012

AYUDA volunteer mentor Sam Wohns traveled to with Quito, along with fellow volunteer mentor Corey Greenblatt and AYUDA Director of International Operations Merith Basey, to work with the Fundación Diabetes Juvenil del Ecuador (FDJE) on diabetes outreach projects.  This trip was captured in a short video by filmmaker Dr. Jonny White of Welcome to type 1.  In this video, Sam reflects on the personal meaning of “Together we are Stronger”  and the strength of the diabetes community within Ecuador.
