	AYUDA is special because it is centered around the idea that youth can act as agents for positive change. AYUDA gives youth living with diabetes in Latin America hope; they realize they are not alone and they are inspired to become advocates for themselves.

A lack of education is equally as dangerous as a lack of insulin

Children living with diabetes face many social, physiological, and economic challenges. Although there is no cure for diabetes, it can be managed with the proper education and resources.

AYUDA's programs aim to provide children and adolescents living with diabetes in the developing world the education and empowerment they need to live happy, healthy, and long lives as leaders in the international community.
